Toby Mac Concert

Once again it was a real privilege for our guys to be able to go and help set up, meet the artists and watch the show this past Friday night at the Abbotsford Entertainment Centre & Sports Complex. We're so thankful to be able to send our guys to these events where they can learn how to enjoy good Christian artists, fellowship and so much more. "Lost Time" - An Anonymous Message From A Past Resident

When I was at Wagner Hills I spent most of my time criticizing the program, the people and the leaders.  I now realize that this was pretty much the most ridiculous thing I could have done.  I was so worried about how long the program was, what I was missing in the world and how soon I could return to the life I once knew.

The thing about God, though, is that he doesn't return you to the life you once knew.  After encountering him in a real and tangible way my life has been forever altered.  And I am here to tell you that it is amazing.

I fought with everyone while at the farm.  I squandered an opportunity that was given to me: to get the most out of everything God was offering to me during that one year.  I was consumed by frustration, intolerance and impatience.  And yet, in spite of  all this, God reached out and touched me.  He changed me.

The world that I once thought was important, is no longer.

I am writing this to share a message that I desperately needed to hear while I was at the farm:  Stop Worrying.  Spending a year to meet God in a personal way, sacrificing the world in order to search for him, is the best decision you could ever make.  The cost of one year of your time is nothing in comparison to what you will receive from him in return.  I know it seems hard to believe when you are stuck in the middle of a struggle, knee deep in the trenches; but, trust me, it is true.

I deserve nothing, yet he has given me everything.  He is faithful even when I am not, and he never gives up on me.

When I came to the farm I was homeless, jobless, broke, destitute, despairing and desperate.  I had nothing in my life.  I had lost all of my family and any hope of establishing a relationship with them.  I had no future and was living only to get high one more time.  I was living on the street, surrounded by people who only wanted to hurt me.  And I was convinced that I would die this way.

Then I came to the farm.

I left early and paid a heavy price for my disobedience; sin is not without consequence, even though grace reigns.  Still, God did not leave me: he picked me up and carried me forward on the journey, moving toward his plans for me.  I am far, far from perfect, yet he shows me kindness and compassion.

I have a home, a vehicle, a job that I love, someone to share my life with, a relationship with my family; and, most importantly - hope.  A that cannot be diminished or squashed by the darkness of this present world.  I have material belongings that I could have never imagined, but it is not the material that inspires me - it is the spiritual connection.

Listen to your leaders.  Forgive and love your brothers.  Give God your heart.  Sing with everything within you.  Surrender and stop fighting.  Because the life waiting for you is more than you could ever imagine, and you will not find it anywhere else.

Vehicle Fundraising & Donations

Wagner Hills Ministries is currently in need of some new and reliable vehicles. We're blessed to have many used vehicles donated every year. We as a ministry are consistently conducting feasibility evaluations on all our vehicles in order to make the best financial decisions for the ministry. We're currently looking to purchase a brand new vehicle for our Creston ministry. If the Lord is putting it on your heart to help donate to this need. All financial donors will receive a tax receipt at year end (around February). If you would like to donate a vehicle, we have a third party christian car dealer who will do the appraisal of the vehicle for tax purposes. Bless you as you give!

Director Jason Roberts Visits Creston

This past weekend, Farm Director Jason Roberts was able to go and visit our Creston House campus in Creston British Columbia. It was a special opportunity for Jason to visit Creston for the first time and the support of the Christian community was graciously received. There is no doubt that God is doing an amazing work in Creston and we're excited as a ministry to see what the good Lord has in store for the future. Another Marriage in the Works!

On behalf of all of us from Wagner Hills Ministries, we would like to Congratulate Wagner Hills Farm alumni Kevin Smith and his fiance Karina Finstad on their recent engagement. We're so excited for Kevin and Karina and their upcoming marriage and life together. Since leaving Wagner Hills Ministries over 5 years ago, Kevin has gone onto bible school, receive his Diploma in Professional Counselling, and now works with helping others overcoming difficult circumstances. God bless you Kevin and your soon to be bride, words cannot express how happy and excited we are for you.

Join us for Friday Worship!

Worship is an essential part of the Wagner Hills Ministries program. Many men and women have received freedom and have had personal "chains" broken off during a worship session. At Wagner Hills, we believe that counselling men and women is great, but the best counsellor of all is the Holy Spirit. In worship, we invite the Holy Spirit to come and minister to our broken hearts, situations and things that seem impossible. He does.

Congratulations to Newlyweds Keith & Marie Bensted

New Years Eve Party

This year we decided to hold our New Year's Eve party at the women's facility, Campbell Valley "House of Hope". It was great to be able to have our gathering at the new facility for the first time. This year, the resident's, family members and friends of the ministry were treated to food, testimonies, skits and worship. It was a good evening to celebrate what God has done is so many lives. For many of the residents, this will have been the first year that they brought in the New Year clean and sober in a long time. For some resident's, they can't remember the last New Year's where they were not "using". We're so thankful to see the men and women make the decision to not turn back to old ways and continue to trust God in their sobriety. We're believing great things in 2014 and we can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for the resident's, families and ministry. God bless you all.
